Best internal private team chat software for Linux

Which is the Best internal private team chat software for Linux?

Do you mean just over a LAN or the interweb ?

Maybe Pidgin or Jitsi ?

or my old favourite (on a LAN) iptux … though I haven’t tested it in a while.

I find jitsi works very well and you can also chat to people on windows or mac as it is multi-platform.

iptux works great, I use it to chat with my grand-daughter even though we’re in the same room on different PC’s it’s a good fun way to help her with her spelling and grammar

Cheers Graeme, I haven’t tried it in recent distros so wasn’t sure if it still worked … good to hear it does

Hi Graeme! Welcome back! I’d searched for some old posts of yours from the distant past and noticed you hadn’t posted in a long while? Hope all is well with you and a belated Happy New Year to you!
