Hi Mark,
I recently installed BricsCAD and now want to delete it from my computer.
Is there a simple way ?
I have tried deleting folders but I still have an icon on the Graphics toolbar and I don’t feel as if the system is clear.
Can you help ?

Open a terminal and post the output from:
dpkg -l | grep -i bric
This could be easily done in Synaptic, if you don’t fancy the terminal much
Just search for it, right click, and “Mark for removal”, or “Mark for complete removal” if you need the disc drive space
Hi Mark,
I get this
don@ldwatson ~ $ dpkg -l | grep -i bric
ii bricscadv14 14.1.17 i386 BricsCAD is the number one DWG CAD alternative offering a complete and recognizable feature set to professional users. BricsCAD reads and writes the DWG format and offers high compatibility with AutoCAD®

Thanks chemicalfan, I didn’t think of that.

Yeah, as there’s only one package, either “mark for complete removal” is Synaptic and “Apply” … or open a terminal and run:
sudo apt-get remove --purge bricscadv14
Hi Mark,
I have carried out your instructions and got this
don@ldwatson ~ $ sudo apt-get remove --purge bricscadv14

I found running the programme in 3d was a struggle as it said the computer did not support hardware needed to run 3d and it fell back to using software. Whatever, it was a pain trying to run it.
Thanks again

Hi Mark,
When I started Pep4 up tonight, before the login screen appeared there was a blank screen and in the top left corner it said something like ‘looking for BricsCAD startup’ . Is this a problem I have created or can I ignore it ?

Those are just shortcuts I think, that you deleted manually maybe?
Can you post a screenshot of when the message comes up?
Dunno what that message was then … it all seems to be gone (except for those 2 items in your trash).
Thanks Mark,
The message has not reappeared, so it looks as though it’s gonefor good ;D

PS I have emptied the trash
