How do I delete files in my download folder Acer spire One

AAOne - How do I delete files which are in my Downloads-File Browser - Linux (EasyPeasy).
Whehn I right click as I would in Windows there is not delete option - baffled.

Try highlighting the file, then hit Shift+Delete keys… be aware, that will delete the file, not put it in the trash/rubbish bin.

I’ll see what I can find about the rubbish bin.

Did you get it working then ?

Yes working fine thanks. Shift/delete thanks that does the trick.

Don’t know where the trash is and I would like to reinstate the word processing and spreadsheet icons.

  1. On the 4 Panel home screen, open Files > My Files or Files > My Documents.

  2. Hit Ctrl+T to display the directory tree, then in the side panel click Trash.

OR

a) On the 4 Panel home screen, open Files > My Files or Files > My Documents.

b) In the address bar where it starts My Disk:/// replace everything there with trash:/// and hit enter.

The “Trash” directory contents should now be displayed.

That was really useful - I spent ages going round in circles trying to empty the trash bin before I thought of searching the forum.

Many thanks Mark (yet again!)

Not so happy with this widescreen website though

You’re welcome

Not quite understanding the “widescreen website” comment though ???
