Kit is starting to appear from mainstream manufacturers that “boasts” about Linux compatibility … OK, it boasts “SteamOS ready”’ but it amounts to the same thing, effectively they’re bragging that it’s designed (or at least tested) to be Linux compatible and that has to be a good thing … right ?

I’ve just bought a switch which lists Linux among supported operating systems.
I wondered whether it would really work, given so many distros, but it seems perfectly happy with Ubuntu 14.04.
Not quite the same as boasting, but welcome anyway.
A network switch is going to work with any OS … still nice of them to put it on the box, at least it shows a willing to accept Linux exists, and you never know it may just make someone think “I wonder what this Linux thing is ?”
