Linux Systems Administrator - Coral Racing

Summary

Coral Racing have an exciting opportunity to join our evolving business as a Linux systems Administrator, working within the Platforms Linux team at our Stratford Olympic Park Head Office.

The Platforms Linux systems administrator’s team have responsibility for ensuring all Coral Linux based environments achieve maximum availability via proactive monitoring and maintenance. This is achieved by utilising established procedures and creating new procedures where required to enable tasks to be automated and improved upon in line with a continual service improvement model.

In addition to maintaining stable environments we are also responsible for software updates, patching, troubleshooting and investigating possible opportunities to improve efficiency across our estate. We work within an ITIL framework including stringent change control processes.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for software updates, patching, troubleshooting and investigating possible opportunities to improve efficiency across the estate working within an ITIL framework, including stringent change control processes. It will also be their responsibility to ensure that Coral follow the relevant PCI compliance processes that govern the industry.

• Puppet

Skills, Knowledge and Behaviour

Skills required;

• Strong Shell scripting skills (bash preferred)
• vi
• P-Series experience desirable

This technical experience will be coupled with an enthusiasm for Linux, the ability to work with highly technical people, excellent analytical and problem solving skills, the ability to work well under pressure and, preferably, an exposure to ITIL.
