Problem re-installing Audacity after tyring to remove a broken install of MATE

I tried to clear the MATE install but knackered things up a bit…
Some other programs were removed by accident and I’m trying to get them installed again but I’m having a problem with Audacity.

The following packages have unmet dependencies:

Another option might be to try manually installing the dependencies it listed first.

I’ve also got no sound when playing video from internet and the video’s only load a little bit and then just stop???
Normal sound OK as currently playing music in Clementine.5

Jeez pooky, how many PPA’s have you got set up (rhetorical question) … I’ll bet they’re all conflicting with each other … it’ll probably be a nightmare to sort that lot out.

And you didn’t say if manually installing the dependencies made any difference

Not sure, why, they’re not all for the same thing are they?

No I doubt if they’re all for the same thing … but some of them will contain different versions of the same libs … so you’ll have ended up with bits from all over the place :o

try installing them one at a time MANUALLY … then try installing audacity.

When you tried installing mate here:

it gave you a list of dependencies that couldn’t be satisfied.

One at a time try manually installing those dependencies.

Any postings about MATE in that topic please … as this is getting confusing.

Your sources are now that messed up, if I were you I’d be giving SERIOUS consideration to wiping and installing Mint 13 … otherwise you’ll probably have problems installing anything.

I suppose you could try ppa-purge(ing) every PPA one at a time … but my guess is it would screw up somewhere along the line.

Why Mint 13 and not 12.04 again? What’s different or better about Mint 13?

OK, I’ll make it simpler… I’ve got 2 choices…

1. Re-install Ubuntu 12.04
2. Install Mint 13

But, Mark, you have swayed the decision more towards a NEW install of Mint 13 MATE.

So… Where can I get an ‘iso’ of the OS?
